Sex Education is a lecture that gives young people reliable information about sexuality, relationships, reproductive health and responsible behaviour. It aims to create a safe space for discussion, break down myths and support informed decisions about sexual and reproductive health.
Part 1: Growing up and reproductive health
Participants learn about the changes that come with puberty, how the reproductive system works and the menstrual cycle. This part helps them better understand their own bodies and the natural process of growing up.
Part 2: Relationships, consent and communication
This part covers building healthy relationships, mutual respect, communication and the meaning of consent. It encourages a responsible approach to relationships and helps prevent inappropriate behaviour.
Part 3: Contraception and STI prevention
Participants learn about the available methods of contraception, their advantages and ways to protect themselves against sexually transmitted infections. The focus is on prevention and informed decisions.
Part 4: Sexuality, stereotypes and myths
The last part looks at the most common myths and prejudices about sexuality. It encourages critical thinking, tolerance and a safe space for open discussion of topics that are often taboo.
A shorter version of the lecture, Sex-ed, is also available.
