At this event, students met canine therapist Katka and her two Cavaliers, Molly and Erinka. They learned that canine therapy is a form of animal-assisted therapy that uses the positive effect of dogs on people. Katka shared experiences from her work in a centre for children with autism spectrum disorder and in a care home, explained why dogs belong on hospital wards and showed how she works with children in kindergarten. Students tried out games and commands, fed the dogs and played with them. The seminar was very informative – and a welcome break from the stress of upcoming exams.
